CLC's Top 5 Podcast Episodes
Dec 21, 2024Hello All!
On behalf of the Compassionate Leaders Circle Podcast, I’d like to share five of my favorite episodes (in no particular order) that resonate deeply with me and give you a sampling of our conversations with global leaders about leading with love.
Episode 33 - The Powerful Potential of Disability Technology
One of my favorite podcast episodes highlights the incredible work of Bernard Chiira from Innovate Now and Regina Kline of Enable Ventures. As leaders in the rapidly growing field of disability technology, they are addressing the needs of a demographic set to double by 2050. Both have been nominated for the 2023 Compassionate Leaders Circle Awards for their impactful contributions. In this episode, we dive into their innovative efforts to empower the global disability community, an inspiring listen showcasing technology's transformative potential in this space.
Episode 45 - Addressing Mental Health in the Workplace
This episode is close to my heart as it tackles the ever-growing issue of mental health in the workplace. Amy Gilliland of General Dynamics Information Technology launched the “How are you, really?” program to encourage an open dialogue about mental health, enabling leaders to embrace these challenging discussions. Additionally, Emily Rosado-Solomon, a professor at Babson College, shares her research on best practices for supporting employee well-being and emphasizes the need to break the stigma around mental health. We also explore timely topics like the 4-day work week and remote work, making this episode a must-listen for anyone interested in creating a healthier workplace culture.
Episode 48 - The Origins of the Donnellan Method
This episode is significant as my co-host, Darryl Brown, turns the tables and interviews me about the Donnellan Method. We dive into how I developed this approach and discuss the power of taking compassionate, intentional action in our personal and professional lives through 12 principles. It’s a sentimental journey that reflects on the pillars that drive our work, making it a particular conversation I’m excited to share with you.
Episode 52 - Discussing Forgiveness with Mark Anthony Lord
In this heartfelt episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with my dear friend and CLC faculty member, Mark Anthony Lord, about the transformative power of forgiveness. Mark’s journey from becoming an ordained Minister to founding thriving spiritual communities, including the Bodhi Spiritual Center and Living The Course, is truly inspiring. Together, we explore how forgiveness is essential for compassionate leadership. Mark wisely says, “The leader always has the potential to change the game and the story.” This conversation is a deep dive into how embracing forgiveness can empower leaders to create lasting change through compassion.
Episode 62 - Growing Together: Inside Mohawk Global’s People-First Approach
In this episode, I enjoyed speaking with my clients and friends, Gar Grannell, CEO of Mohawk Global, and Rachael Marwood, their Director of Marketing. Gar, a 2024 CLC Awards honoree, and Rachael share how Mohawk Global embodies compassionate leadership by fostering a people-first culture. From their unique no-layoff policy to their innovative gardening program that strengthens community ties, they highlight ways they prioritize employee well-being and client relationships. This conversation focuses on how trust, growth, and compassion can transform a workplace into a thriving, purpose-driven environment. It's a testament to what happens when leaders truly put the people at the heart of their mission.
I hope these episodes inspire you to be kinder to yourself and your team today!
Best Wishes,
Laurel Donnellan
